Euro 2008 Tournament Information - European Championship 2008 in Austria and Switzerland

Following the success of the Euro 2004 tournament, the 2008 European Championship at Senior National Football team level is co-hosted by Austria and Switzerland, which gives these two countries automatic qualification for the European football event, with current European champions Greece, who won the tournament in Portugal in 2004.

This is the second time the Euro Cup tournament is co-hosted by two countries, after the Euro 2000 tournament, which was co-hosted by Belgium and Holland.

Four stadiums from each country will host all the tournament games, with the final of the Euro 2008 being hosted in Austria, at the Ernst Happel Stadion of Vienna.

The four stadims in Switzerland are FC Basel's home, St. Jakob-Park in Basel, which will host the opening match of the tournament, two group stage matches, two Quarter-Finals and one Semi-Final. BSC Young Boys' Stade de Suisse in Wankdorf.

Bern will host three group stage matches, the same as Servette FC's Geneva Stadium and FC Zürich's Letzigrund Stadion.

In Austria, FC Wacker Tirol's home Tivoli-Neu Stadion will host three group stage matches, the same as FC Kärnten's Wörthersee Stadion and Salzburg's Wals Siezenheim Stadium, while three group stage matches, two Quarter-Finals and one Semi-Final will be hosted at Vienna's Ernst Happel Stadion.
